Meditations On Middle East 09/24/2024 -REX✞Streams

Israel's diabolical and violent expansion, often referred to by myself as the pursuit of the "Greater Israel" agenda, continues to wreak devastation. With the recent escalations in Lebanon—the brutal airstrikes, indiscriminate bombings, and terroristic pager hackings—the expansionist vision of the Zionist empire is moving to its next phase. The ambitions to reclaim Gaza and Lebanon are not new. Zionist ideology, grounded in territorial expansion, sees these regions as integral to their blood and soil persuasion as Moloch's Chosen People. To spread the banner of the Star of Remphan far and wide.

In my previous reflections, I touched on this particular subject, but its relevance today requires a deeper examination. The media's role in these geopolitical conflicts cannot be ignored. Under pressure from establishment figures like Mehdi Hasan, supposed 'dissident' voices such as Jill Stein have been coerced into publicly condemning world leaders like Assad and Putin—champions of a multipolar world order. Stein’s statement falsely labeled Russia’s intervention in Syria as an effort to support "Assad's brutal suppression" of a popular uprising, falling in line with the mainstream media narrative.

However, the reality is more complex. In a leaked conversation from September 2016, then-Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that Russia's intervention was largely a response to the growing power of ISIL. "The reason Russia came in is because ISIL was getting stronger," Kerry revealed to Syrian opposition activists. Russia's goal was to prevent the rise of an ISIL-led government, a fact the U.S. downplayed. Rather than supporting Assad's supposed repression of his people, Russia's involvement was a pragmatic effort to prevent extremist forces from overtaking the region.

Kerry also admitted something far more damning. The U.S., as part of its multi-billion dollar covert war against Syria, was leveraging the rise of ISIL for its own regime change goals. "We were watching. We saw that Daesh was growing in strength, and we thought Assad was threatened," Kerry said. The U.S. hoped that the threat of ISIL would force Assad to negotiate his departure from power, proving that America was willing to play a dangerous game with extremist groups in the pursuit of its own foreign policy objectives. In fact, U.S. officials, like Jake Sullivan, openly acknowledged in internal communications that "Al Qaeda is on our side in Syria."

Turkey’s President Erdogan, addressing the UN, expressed his outrage, comparing Netanyahu's actions to those of Hitler. "Just as Hitler was stopped by an alliance of humanity 70 years ago, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by an alliance of humanity," Erdogan declared. While I share Erdogan’s condemnation, I harbor doubts about his sincerity. Given Turkey’s NATO status and Israel’s non-NATO status, it’s worth speculating whether the U.S., under either a Harris or Trump presidency, would honor its Article 5 commitment to defend Turkey if it were attacked by Israel.

The intensifying conflict threatens to spiral into a catastrophe dwarfing the Iraq War—potentially unleashing the devastation of five Iraq Wars combined. The tragic irony is that the Iraq War itself was largely seen as a war fought for Israel’s security. We are now, yet again, on the precipice of another cataclysmic conflict to defend a Jewish ethno-state, with the human cost likely to be unimaginable.

The sense of horror I feel is profound. Every day brings us closer to a world plunged deeper into chaos, with global powers playing games with human lives, all for the sake of empire and geopolitical dominance. I pray daily, seeking some comfort, though I struggle to reconcile my faith with the darkness I see unfolding. While I understand that free will is a sacred gift, the way it is exercised by my fellow man only deepens my frustration and sorrow.
